Malvasia Hotel

Malvasia Hotel

Three hundred metres from the castle gate, at the end of the stone-paved main street that runs through the town, is the Malvasia Hotel. The eastern section of the walls, the Myrtoan Sea and the open horizon unfold before it.

The Malvasia Hotel, among the earliest organised lodgings in the castle, is an imposing complex of stone buildings, created by joining together seven independent houses. The restoration of these houses was undertaken in the mid-1980s, with great respect towards the preserved historical features and unique architectural styles of the castle. Their recent renovation was completed in 2015.

The hotel offers 14 rooms, each decorated differently with antique furniture and rugs, paintings and special details that exude the warm atmosphere of the house. Most of the rooms offer beautiful sea views, while many of them have a balcony and their own fireplace. All of them are equipped with air conditioning, refrigerator, satellite TV and wi-fi.

The Malvasia Hotel has a sitting room, a breakfast room, and a popular bar which operates during the summer months, with a stunning view of the sea. Harmoniously combining traditional elements with modern amenities, it is ideal for all seasons.

On sunny days you can enjoy breakfast in the flower-filled courtyard while on cold days in the picturesque dining area. During winter it’s a pleasure to sit next to the beautiful stone fireplace with a glass of wine or a cup of coffee, reading a book or playing board games, while in summer, a cool drink in the bar overlooking the open sea, with the delicate sounds of classical music and jazz in the background, offers an unforgettable experience.

The hotel’s greatest asset is its enchanting view. So find your favourite spot and let the magic embrace you...

Stellaki Mansion

Stellaki Mansion

About fifty metres from the castle gate, right on the castle walls, is the Stellaki Mansion. The mansion is one of the town’s oldest and finest buildings and is known to have belonged to one of Monemvasia’s most important families since the 18th century. Restoration of the building was undertaken in the early 1980s, with a minimal intervention. Renovations were completed in July 2009.

Its position is unique as the mansion rises above the sea wall, among the castle battlements. Its balcony with stone-built parapet rests on the wall, becoming one with the sea that laps the rocks below. The splendidly restored apartments of the Stellaki Mansion, with their understated luxury, offer an atmospheric environment that harmoniously combines romance and charm with modern amenities. The larger apartments are ideal for families and groups of friends travelling together. Some of these have a fireplace and some have sea views, while others overlook the blossoming inner courtyards. All of them offer air conditioning, satellite TV, Wi-Fi, and a well-equipped kitchenette for preparing breakfast and snacks.

For guests staying at the Stellaki Mansion the choices are many. They can take their breakfast at the Malvasia Hotel following a pleasant ten-minute walk through the narrow streets of the fortress town to get there. If, however, they want to relax in their own space, we can supply them with all the local products they need to prepare their own breakfast in their apartment whenever they want.

RITSOS GUESTHOUSE

Fully renovated in 2017, it offers an atmospheric environment that combines the picturesque with discreet luxury and modern amenities. On the ground floor of the guesthouse you will find our traditional café, where from April until October, you can enjoy local breakfast recipes and relax under the shade of the old fig tree, before or after a dip in the sea, with coffee or ouzo and mouth-watering appetizers. During the winter months breakfast is served in the dining area of the Malvasia Hotel.
